Notes: If you are using a Microsoft account to log on to Windows 10, you just need to reset your password online at account.live.com/resetpassword.aspx. But if you are using a local account, you have to reset your password by the following steps. What you need:
- Any working computer with internet access
- A removable media such as a USB flash disk or CD/DVD flash drive
Step 1: Get the iSumsoft Windows Password Refixer software

Install the iSumsoft Windows Password Refixer software on any working computer. Of course, you have to first download it online. Once you have it installed on that computer, launch it.
Step 2: Create a password reset disk
Once you have the software launched, follow the on-screen instructions to burn it to a USB/CD flash drive. This will create a Windows password reset disk. For example, you can choose USB device, then insert a USB flash disk into that computer, and note the USB drive name and then click Begin burning. Don’t remove the USB flash disk from that computer until Burning Successfully pops up.
Step 3: Make your locked computer boot from the password reset disk
Insert the password reset disk you just created in Step 2 to your locked Windows 10 computer. Start/restart the computer and keeping pressing the Boot Menu key to enter the Boot Menu. After the Boot Menu appears, select your removable flash disk (USB or CD flash drive) and press Enter key so that your computer will boot from the password reset disk.
Step 4: Reset Windows 10 password
After your locked computer boots from the password reset disk (USB or CD flash drive), iSumsoft Windows Password Refixer will display on your computer’s screen. You just need to confirm your Windows 10 on the screen, select the user account you need to reset password for, and then click the Reset Password button. It will ask if you want to reset the user’s password, just need to click Yes to agree so that your password will be reset at once.
